VIDMETRIX has launched its own multi-site video uploader. The tool will allow video publishers to automatically distribute their content to seven video-sharing sites: YouTube, MySpace, Metacafe, Google, Yahoo, Revver, and Veoh. Tubemogul, which announced a multi-site uploader last week, is adding 3 new distribution sites to its service today, bringing its total reach to 9 video-sharing sites.

MY DAMN CHANNEL is a new online video destination launching this morning. The site will emphasize professional, episodic content, and promises to “disrupt media” by giving content creators artistic freedom. The early roster of professionals includes comedian Harry Shearer, producer Don Was, actor Paul Reiser, and “Web phenom” Andy Milonakis. MDC will syndicate its content across video-sharing sites, and collect advertising revenue. The site has signed a distribution deal with YouTube.

THE FCC is hearing the complaints of lawmakers about the upcoming transition to Digital TV. On Monday, it released a notice of proposed rules, seeking comment. Among the suggestions were mandatory PSA’s, inserts into cable bills, and required notices with new TV purchases. FCC commissioner Michael J. Copps said that under-education of consumers creates the risk for “a very messy backlash.”

VERIZON has reached 515,000 FiOS TV subscribers. The company is netting 2,600 subscribers per day. Verizon now has 1.3 million video subscribers, including its satellite partnership with DirecTV. Verizon V CAST is also showing impressive numbers, with subscribers downloading 25 million music and video files during the last quarter.
